Former Ryder Cup operations director Paul Dunstan has moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, having been appointed director of events at Golf Saudi.
Dunstan, who spent 18 years with the DP World Tour, was responsible for delivering world-class golf events across Europe and the Middle East including leading the operational delivery of both the 2018 and 2023 Ryder Cups as operations director.
Golf Saudi events include the PIF Saudi International, which last took place in December at Riyadh Golf Club, the Aramco Team Series and Saudi Open.
Commenting on the move, Dunstan, who recently spoke at the Access All Areas Conference & Awards, said he was excited to begin a new chapter in his career: “I’m thrilled to be joining Golf Saudi as director of events, where I’ll have the opportunity to build on the team’s fantastic work in delivering events both nationally and internationally. Together, we’ll be focused on supporting the strategic objectives of Golf Saudi and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 through the game of golf.”
The live entertainment boom in Saudi Arabia has seen countless eye wateringly complex productions staged, and many remarkable venues built. UK-based companies have been quick to get involved. In a recent feature, AAA explores the key challenges and opportunities involved in working there.
