Thailand will host the first Asian edition of the Tomorrowland music festival with the event scheduled for 11-13 December at Wisdom Valley in Pattaya.

Organisers said the festival is expected to host more than 50,000 attendees per day across the three days. Tomorrowland will organise the event in partnership with the Thai Government and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), who will cooperate on logistics, tourism planning and local staffing.

Set to take place at the 237-acre Wisdom Valley site, Tomorrowland’s first Thailand edition will include multiple stages and production elements consistent with Tomorrowland festivals held in Europe and South America, including the CORE and Freedom stages. The festival will not include DreamVille camping accommodation, which is offered at the European editions. Instead, organisers said they will provide hotel packages and shuttle services for ticket holders.

Four types of festival passes will be offered: Full Madness Pass for three-day access, Full Madness Comfort Pass for three-day VIP access, Day Pass for single-day access, and Comfort Pass for VIP single-day access.

Tomorrowland is currently held twice a year in Europe and once in South America. The Thailand edition will be the fourth full-scale festival under the Tomorrowland brand.

The Thailand announcement comes at a time of expansion for Tomorrowland. In November, it staged its first show in China; an immersive event with an audience of 5,000 in Shanghai’s Hero Dome. Tomorrowland’s CORE electronic music shows will also expand their reach this year with editions in Los Angeles and Melbourne.

Last year’s Belgian festival was held across two weekends in July, attracted around 400,000 attendees with over 600 artists performing across 16 stages.

Tomorrowland CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers said, “Thailand feels like the right place, not only because of its beauty and energy, but also because of the shared ambition to create something meaningful and world-class together. This is the beginning of a long-term story. The team in Belgium will work with a local team of 40 people in Thailand.”

According to TAT, hosting Tomorrowland in Thailand marks an important milestone in its ambition to position the country as a leader in global tourism and creative experiences.
