The Showman’s Show is to follow events including Glastonbury Festival, WOMAD and Lido by partnering with Grid Faeries x Ecotricity to embrace battery-powered renewable energy on a large scale.

The move will see the outdoor events industry exhibition use Grid Faeries’ one-megawatt battery to provide sustainable power to 120 exhibitors at the 22-23 October event at Newbury Showground.

Grid Faeries CEO and co-founder Claire O’Neill said, “Our aim is to get the diesel out of live events. Powering the show all about shows is a great chance to reach the audience we need.”

“The Showman’s Show prides itself in being a platform to showcase new ideas and innovations. This partnership not only helps us meet our sustainability goals but also provides an opportunity for event organisers and suppliers to see this service in action,” said Showman’s Show director Johnny Lance.

The Showman’s Show will also introduce new accessibility features for 2025 with a new dedicated area. It will be the first Showman’s Show without founder Stephen Lance, who passed away in August.
