Max SteventonRoskilde Festival has introduced three new crowd barrier products developed by Dutch Barrier Services (DBS) as part of its stage infrastructure for the 2026 event in Denmark.
DBS supplied more than 1,500 metres of barriers for the Orange, Arena and Laguna stages at the festival, held at Dyrskuepladsen in July. The new products were deployed for the first time at the event and form part of the company’s proprietary barrier range launched in 2022.
According to DBS, the new barrier systems were developed in collaboration with Roskilde Festival following discussions about operational requirements and crowd management challenges identified during previous editions of the event.
One of the new products is a redesigned Security Walk Way that provides a continuous security step behind the barrier. The new unit occupies the same footprint as a standard barrier, replacing an earlier design that extended one metre behind the barrier. The revised layout allows barriers to be positioned closer to the stage or reduces the space required between barrier lines.
DBS said the project was supported through collaboration with its design and manufacturing partner during the development process
