Denmark’s Roskilde Festival has generated 15.4 million DKK (£1.74m) from its 2025 event, with the funds distributed to initiatives that improve opportunities for young people.
The event’s organisers said that more than 100,000 ticket holders and 27,000 volunteers took part in the festival and contributed to the total amount raised. The money will go towards humanitarian, charitable and cultural initiatives. The Green Youth Movement, Red Cross and the Association of Unaccompanied Minors are among the organisations to benefit.
The independent, non-profit festival has raised a total of €65m (£56.3m) since its inception in 1971.
This year’s event is scheduled to take place on 27 June- 4 July at the Dyrskuepladsen grounds, just outside Copenhagen. Among the headliners are The Cure, Gorillaz, Zara Larsson and Wolf Alice.
Roskilde Festival CEO Signe Lopdrup said, “As an independent, non-profit festival, our primary aim is to empower children and young people. The surplus ensures that we can do just that and underscores the value of the community spirit that underpins the festival. “
