Pink Bows Advisory Board launched at NCS⁴ Conference

During a keynote speech at the Sports Safety and Security Conference, Pink Bows Foundation co-founder Brian Dubiski revealed details a new Pink Bows Advisory Board involving leading figures in global event safety.

During his speech at the event at the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS⁴) in Palm Springs, Dubiski said the advisory board had been created to strengthen Pink Bows’ collaborative links with the global events safety community. It comprises 16 global event safety professionals, eight of who are expert witnesses. They include UKCMA chair Anne Marie Chebib, crowd management experts professor John Drury and professor Keith Stills, Halo CEO Lloyd Major, Roskilde Festival director of safety and guest relations Morten Therkildeson MSC and Showstop Procedure co-founders Steve Allen and Dr Mark Hamilton.

Brian’s daughter Madison Dubiski tragically lost her life during the 5 November 2021 Astroworld Travis Scott concert. Subsequently, the Pink Bows Foundation was launched with a mission to make events safer. Dubiski launched the Showstop Procedure at the Event Production Show in February last year. It is designed to reduce system failure and support safer live events through a global standardised competency framework for safety-critical decision making. The Showstop Procedure course has since seen more than 850 event professionals, globally, take part in the training programme.

Having been invited by NCS⁴ to share details of the Showstop Procedure qualification, Dubiski opened the conference with a talk that led to a standing ovation. He not only recounted his personal experience of how the horror of 5 November 5 2021 unfolded for him and his family, and the ensuing years of pain, but also how The Pink Bows Foundation has proven to be a positive focus.

He said, “We are inspired by the support of these incredible people and excited by the vast experience and professional capability this highly respected and knowledgeable group adds to the progression of the foundation to contribute to safer events.

“A huge thank you to the NCS⁴ board. We feel a strong bond with the conference organisers and delegates and admire their professionalism and devotion to prevent the likelihood of similar future incidents.”

Pink Bows Board president Stephanie Stegall also addressed the conference. She outlinined the importance of the strong bond being created with NCS⁴, and the common goal to make events safer through training and driving positive progression.
