DHP Family adds Julie Tippins and Michele Somers to board

Nottingham-based promoter and venue owner/operator DHP Family has added Julie Tippins and Michele Somers to its board of directors.

The promoter of festivals including Splendour (pictured), Bearded Theory and Dot To Dot has appointed Michele Somers to the board as the new director of risk and culture, while Julie Tippins has become a non-executive director.

Tippins was previously head of risk management at DHP, which she joined in 2010 as operations manager. In April, she received the chairman’s award at the NTIA Ambassadors Awards for her contribution to the UK’s nighttime industry.

Somers has been with DHP Family for 16 years, previously working as area manager responsible for several venues before becoming director of risk and culture in April.

As well as Nottingham’s Rock City, DHP owns and operates venues including Oslo in London and Bristol’s Thekla. The promoter said that in the past decade it has delivered more than 15,000 live shows and sold over 8m concert tickets.
