Cirque Du Soleil has announced the launch of a digital, at-home, rendering of its show Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities.
The Montreal-based circus touring operation said the interactive digital version of its stage show, which was launched in 2014, will enable viewers to gain behind-the-scenes access, explore parallel storylines, and view a curated selection of extra content via connected devices such as smartphones, tablets and TVs. It is billed as a ‘dynamic, social way to enjoy the show, where everyone can explore different aspects simultaneously’.
Viewers will be able to explore the VIP area, go backstage to see performers preparing, follow characters, and use an interactive map to navigate multiple areas of the venue. The project has been created in partnership with with Imagien, the company behind the interactive digital platform Parallel!.
“This is just the beginning of a deeper, more meaningful connection with our audience—every day of the year,” said Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group chief customer experience officer Anne Belliveau.
“Our goal was to create the best possible experience, recognising the importance of testing the market and understanding how fans would embrace this new offering. The overwhelmingly positive response has reinforced our commitment to delivering a seamless, user-friendly experience that brings the magic of Cirque du Soleil into homes around the world.”
