Christopher BarrettBRIT Awards operator the BPI has announced details of the creative team that will spearhead the event’s first incarnation outside London.
Oak View Group-operated Co-op Live (cap. 23,500) arena will host the event, due to tale place 28 February 2026. Production designer Misty Buckley will oversee the set design. Her lengthy CV includes the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2022 Commonwealth Games along with tour productions for the likes Elton John, U2, Coldplay, Stormzy and Ariana Grande.
Buckley will work alongside entertainment director Phil Heyes, executive producer Sally Wood and the BPI’s director of events & charities Maggie Crowe OBE.
Overseeing all elements of the event, including the creative direction, is Stacey Tang, co-president of RCA Records at Sony Music UK, who has been appointed chair of the BRITs Committee for the next three years.
“It’s been a revelation getting to work alongside Sally, Misty, Phil and Maggie,” she said. “I thought I had a good understanding around the amount of work that went into the show, but I have a new depth of respect and appreciation for the team. It’s an absolute gift to work with people who not only know the show inside out but know exactly how to make the impossible happen.”
The BRIT Awards has been staged in London since it was founded in 1989, most recently at AEG Europe-owned and operated venue The O2; which has been the event’s home since 2011. The BRITs has previously been hosted at London venues including Earls Court, Alexandra Palace and the Royal Albert Hall.
