Christopher Barrett| The Grand Hall at Olympia is to host live music for the first time since 2022, with Bloc Party and Interpol to co-headline the first of a series of shows at the venue, promoted by SJM Concerts.
The bands will play the Legends Global and Olympia Events-operated London venue on 4 and 5 December as part of the Winter Music Series. The series marks a new era for live music within the Olympia London complex, which, following a £1.3 billion redevelopment, is nearing completion. The vast events complex will include an AEG Presents-operated, 3,800-capacity, purpose-built live entertainment venue above the Legends Global-operated exhibition hall. Meanwhile, Trafalgar Entertainment has taken on a 70-year lease to run a new 1,575-seat theatre in the building. The site will also include a private members club managed by Olympia Events, 30 restaurants, bars, two new hotels – citizenM London Olympia and Hyatt Regency London Olympia – a gym and 550,000 sq ft of office space. “Over our 139-year history, the Grand Hall has hosted some of the world’s most celebrated artists including the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Cure and Pink Floyd, and this marks the next chapter in that heritage,” said Olympia Events business development director Gareth Lloyd. “As Olympia evolves into a world-class cultural and entertainment destination in 2026, with the addition of new cultural spaces, bars, restaurants, and hotels onsite, it will no doubt offer unforgettable experiences for audiences and artists alike.”
