Barbican appoints new event manager

The Barbican has appointed Silvana Ambrosiou as business and event manager, responsible for the management of commercial events, client relationships and liaising with the various departments across centre.

She has a range of experience in the industry including previous work as a festival and events coordinator with Waterstones for more than 10 years.

This appointment comes less than a year after the venue closed £1m of events contracts in a single week from international booking.

Lee Dobson, head of event management at the Barbican, said: “Silvana has settled into her role well and she has brought a real energy to the team as we look to make 2016 another year to remember.”
