L-Acoustics, Chauvet and Carallon have become the latest live entertainment industry suppliers to partner with the Backup Tech charity.

An event industry charity that provides financial and wellbeing support to technical production professionals, Backup said its three new partners join existing ones including Ambersphere, ETC, Neg Earth, Unusual, Christie Lites, TSL and 5 Star Cases.

The charity said the support of its partners ensures that it can continue to help industry professionals with grants and/or wellbeing related training: “Backup’s work is instrumental to the industry and its partners are a huge part of making that happen. In addition, every new partner helps spread more awareness within our industry to those who might need help.”

Chauvet UK sales manager Sam Bowden, who raised more than £15,000 for Backup in 2021 with his 101-mile light walk, said, “Backup is a fantastic charity that Chauvet have supported in many different ways over the years, from our 101-mile Light Walk to the coveted raffle prizes at the Village Fetes.”

“Live sound professionals are a valued and essential part of our community and ecosystem – they inspire our innovations and share our passion for connecting people through extraordinary experiences,” said L-Acoustics chief people officer Anne Hamlett. “Supporting Backup means supporting the very people who bring sound to life and make these meaningful connections possible.”

Carallon chief people officer Sarah Darby said supporting Backup is an extension of the company’s values: “The idea to support Backup came through our Employee Council and the board agreed it was a natural fit. After over 20 years in the industry, we’re committed to long-term support not just for our own people, but beyond. Backup do amazing work and we’re excited to get started with raising both funds and awareness.”
