AEG-owned burgeoning ticketing operation AXS has partnered with ASM Global’s AO Arena (cap. 23,000) in Manchester to become its official ticketing provider.
AXS said the partnership will see it streamline the ticket-buying process for the venue’s more than one million customers each year, and work to reduce fraud and inflated secondary ticketing by rolling out its AXS Mobile ID and AXS Official Resale platforms.
On the back of a £50million redevelopment programme at the venue, AO Arena acting general manager Gemma Vaughan said the deal was part of a new chapter for the arena: “By introducing the straightforward and seamless ticket experience that AXS is known for, fans now have access to a platform that is easy to use, highly intuitive and will make buying tickets a breeze.”
AXS president of international Blaine Legere said that the AO Arena has played a vital role in shaping the UK’s live scene, and AXS is proud to add another major venue to its growing UK portfolio. AXS is operational in the UK, Sweden, Japan, Germany and Australia. Its UK clients include BST Hyde Park, All Points East, The O2 arena and OVO Arena Wembley.
