BST Hyde Park is the latest major event to be profiled in the Access All Areas Explores film series.
Star Live has worked with AEG Presents to deliver the temporary infrastructure behind the 70,000-capacity event since it was launched in 2013.
The nine-show concert series, which this year involved headliners such as Garth Brooks, Mumford & Sons, Pitbull and ATEEZ, saw Star Live build no less than 45 structures across the site. Among the many impressive BST landmarks created by the Star Live team include the Great Oak Stage, Vista VIP grandstand and hospitality suites, Rainbow Stage and North Entrance Arches.
As temperatures soared, we went behind the scenes, on stage and under it, with Star Live head of projects Gavin Scott to examine the complexities and challenges involved in building so much of the remarkable event. According to Scott, the project involves two weeks of heavy construction, around 120 truck movements, 30 crane days, up to five cranes operating on site and more than 120 Star Live personnel during the peak period.
The film also involves AEG Presents UK & European Festivals CEO Jim King and AEG Presents festivals director Laura Armstrong.
“We have worked with Star Live for many years,” said King. “They have always had a great team that understands their clients. If you look at all the big elements we have done at BST, they have been executed with Star. They have always come up with answers to challenges, which is what you want your supply chain to be able to do for you.”
