Olympia Events is developing its live entertainment offering as part of the £1.3bn development of the West London site.

Olympia Events business development manager Gareth Lloyd speaks to Access about the redevelopment and the venue’s plans for live events and entertainment.

The redevelopment is adding new spaces for music, theatre, hospitality and events alongside the site’s existing exhibition venues. A new 3,800-capacity live entertainment venue, British Airways ARC, has opened, while a 1,575-seat theatre is due to open in 2027.

He also discusses Olympia’s live events heritage. “We opened 140 years ago with Bertram Mills’ iconic circus,” said Lloyd. “Since then Olympia has played host to a number of amazing music artists like Jimi Hendrix, The Cure and The Chemical brothers.”

Lloyd joined Olympia Events in 2025 after more than 26 years working across sport, live entertainment and events, including a previous role with global live events operator ASM Global. His role at Olympia includes leading the venue’s commercial development and identifying opportunities across its event calendar.
