Harry Styles has been recognised by Guinness World Records for his record-breaking 12-show run at Wembley stadium, which ended on Saturday.
Promoted by Live Nation, the dozen dates at the 90,000-capacity North London venue were part of Styles’ Together, Together tour that commenced on 16 May at Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.
Guiness World Records said Styles had officially achieved a new world record for the longest residency by a musician at Wembley Stadium during a single run. The LIVE Trust – which supports grassroots festivals, venues, promoters and artists across the UK – will receive £1 from every ticket sold
The record-breaking run was marked at the close of the final show with the unveiling of a commemorative banner by Harry’s sister Gemma Styles, who joined him onstage before a fireworks display.
The Together, Together tour involves 67 shows at venues in Amsterdam, London, São Paulo, Mexico City, New York, Melbourne and Sydney. Ahead of a 30-show residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden from 26 August, the tour’s next stop is in São Paulo, where Styles is set to perform at Estadio MorumBIS on 17 July.
Guinness World Records adjudicator Will Munford said it was great to see Styles and his team recognising the wider tour team with Guinness World Records certificates celebrating the huge amount of work that went into it: “Record-breaking moments are rarely achieved alone, and this is a true example of what we mean when we say everyone can be part of it.”
