Max SteventonLive Nation, Oak View Group (OVG) and Gaiety Investments have confirmed plans to develop a new live entertainment venue in Dublin following the acquisition of a site in the city’s docklands.
The consortium has completed the purchase of the former Warehouse F site at East Road and East Wall Road in Dublin 3 for approximately €90 million. The location covers around 8.15 acres and was acquired from logistics company Freight Transport Association Ireland (FTAI).
The companies intend to develop a venue for live music, sport and entertainment on the site. Planning and design work will now begin, with a construction timetable yet to be announced.
If completed as proposed, the arena would have a capacity of up to 20,000 people, making it larger than Dublin’s existing 3Arena, which accommodates 13,000 for concerts. The development would be designed to host international touring artists, sporting fixtures and other live events.
The project marks the first arena partnership between Live Nation and OVG in Ireland. Gaiety Investments, part of the Fitzpatrick family business interests, is also a partner in the development.
The site was previously occupied by warehouse and logistics facilities and is located within Dublin’s North Lotts and Grand Canal Dock Strategic Development Zone, an area identified for large-scale regeneration.
