Max SteventonA 51-year-old man died on Saturday night (20 June) after falling from an elevated area inside Madison Square Garden during a Goose concert, according to New York City police.
Police said officers responded to a call at approximately 9:51 p.m. local time and found the man unconscious and unresponsive inside the arena. Authorities said his injuries were consistent with a fall from an elevated position.
The man was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
The incident occurred during the second night of Goose’s two-night engagement at Madison Square Garden.
Witnesses reported that venue personnel responded to the scene and cleared seating sections near where the incident occurred. The concert continued and concluded later in the evening.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not announced any evidence suggesting foul play.
Last year, a fan died at an Oasis concert at Wembley after falling from a height leading to calls from the industry to impose greater safety measures concerning shows at big venues.
