AEG Presents’ BST Hyde Park can now consist of nine shows with a capacity of 69,999, a 14.5 per cent increase on the attendee limitations of the previous premises licence.

Westminster City Council has approved The Royal Parks Limited’s application to raise the capacity for BST Hyde Park from the previous limit of 64,999 for seven days and 49,999 for two, which meant an overall event series audience capacity limit of 550,000.

Under the new licence, AEG Presents will have the option to host up to 630,000 attendees across nine BST Hyde Park shows – an increase in attendance of 5,000 for seven concerts and 20,000 for two concerts.

The forthcoming event is scheduled from 27 June to 12 July with headliners including Garth Brooks, Mumford & Sons, Duran Duran, Pitbull, ATEEZ, Maroon 5 and Lewis Capaldi.

In 2022, BST Hyde Park, which is produced by LS Events, was expanded from six shows to nine. AEG Presents’ contract with The Royal Parks runs until 2027.

The new premise license application was met with resistance from local residents and the Metropolitan Police. While the former’s concerns were largely around noise, littering, and audience dispersal, the latter stated: “There is insufficient detail contained within the operating schedule to promote the licensing objectives.”
