From The Fields promoted festival Kendal Calling has sold out less than three weeks after the lineup was announced for the 2025 edition, to make it the fastest selling event in its two-decade history.
The event, which has been grown from a 900-people capacity, when it first started in 2006, to 40,000, will take place on 31 July-3 August 2025 at the Lake District’s Lowther Deer Park.
From The Fields, which is shortlisted for Event Promoter of the Year at the forthcoming Access All Areas Awards, will celebrate the 20th edition of the event next summer, having seen the festival sell out every year since its launch.
Among the acts booked to play the 2025 event are Courteeners, Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy and Kaiser Chiefs, The Last Dinner Party and Frank Turner.
Kendal Calling founder Andy Smith said, “I don’t often find myself lost for words, but this year has completely blown us away. Twenty years, twenty sell-outs — it’s simply incredible. The demand for this one has been like nothing we’ve ever seen before. I’ve always said it’s the people who make the festival and the Kendal Calling community is truly something special, the very heart of what makes it all so magical. For nearly two decades, these four days have been the beating heart of summer, filled with joy, wonder, and celebration. Selling out before the year’s even up is astonishing, but there’s still so much to do behind the scenes to make sure this 20th-anniversary celebration is everything you could dream of and more. We can’t wait to share it with you.”
Frank Turner said, “I first played Kendal Calling all the way back in 2009, and they’ve had me back five times since, and now again for 2025, so I think they must like me. Which is a relief, because I bloody love them; the quintessential independent UK festival, great vibes, great people, great music, year after year. I’m beyond flattered to be there for the 20th instalment; long may they reign.”
