Olivia PowellThe noughties group S Club will be opening the Winter Wonderland event at Rainton Arena, Houghton-le-Spring on 29 November.
S Club featuring Tina, Bradley and Jo, will be officially launching the Winter Wonderland at 6pm. The group will be switching on the Christmas lights, before performing a variety of their songs.
Other features of the event include a real ice rink and the opportunity to meet Santa, as well as an ‘authentic’ German market, live reindeer, a fairground, Christmas wreath making sessions and an après ski tipi bar.
The event will last for three weeks and will have a programme of entertainment at the après ski tipi bar, including a Christmas film screened every morning at 10:30am.
The owner of Rainton Arena, Jay Johal, said: “S Club are amazing performers and I can’t think of anyone better to launch the Winter Wonderland.
“They are certain to get everyone in the festive spirit and there’s a whole host of free entertainment at the event for all ages to enjoy. We’ve been working non-stop to create something really spectacular and I can’t wait to see people’s reactions later this week.”
The Winter Wonderland takes place from 10am-10pm each day until 23 December at Rainton Arena.
