Losberger De Boer will return to Farnborough International Airshow 2018 (FIA) to build over 70,000sqm of exhibition space for its eleventh consecutive event.

A team of 40 Losberger De Boer personnel have been based at Farnborough Airfield since March building four giant exhibition halls for the airshow in July.

When completed, the structures will reach over a kilometre in length with the airshow’s Hall Two being specially modified to link with the all-new Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre.

“We’re also creating a number of exhibitor chalets using our curved roof Anova, which is a new design for this year’s exhibition. We wanted to create a modern and sleek image and I’m looking forward to seeing the final effect,” comments Daniel Perry, Losberger De Boer Project Manager.

As well as the main exhibitor chalets, a Delta structure will house the new ‘Aerospace 4.0’ highlighting the latest international aerospace innovations and technologies.

The Losberger De Boer team has also custom designed a specialist chalet using the company’s double-deck President structure for exhibitor, GE Aviation.  A life-size aircraft engine will be placed in the centre of the chalet, with a second-level viewing platform enabling a bird’s-eye view. The structure will incorporate a reinforced floor to support the engine’s weight.

Peter Spruce, managing director, Losberger De Boer, said: “We always look forward to the Farnborough International Airshow and are proud to play our part in what is a complex and challenging build which depends on careful, considerate and detailed planning.”

Once the show is underway, Losberger De Boer’s tent builders will have just three days to build over ninety smaller structures on the airfield for the two public days. These will house dedicated family activities and merchandise outlets.

Andy Coulson, head of airshow operations, Farnborough International Limited, added: “This is an exciting year for the airshow as we will showcase the recently completed, permanent Farnborough International Conference and Exhibition Centre. This, combined with Losberger De Boer’s understanding of our requirements, means that exhibitors and guests at Farnborough International Airshow 2018 can expect an exhibition venue of the highest standard.

“We have worked with Losberger De Boer at the FIA for nearly two decades to deliver world-class aviation and aerospace exhibitions and look forward to another successful event this year.”
