ADI, specialists in event LED, will deliver screen solutions across all competition and non-competition venues during the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.

Appointed by Glasgow City Council through a competitor tender process, ADI will provide over 900sqm of high resolution LED in both mobile and modular formats to offer an incredible live spectator experience.

Nick Robinson, ADI’s director of screen rental said: “Having been involved in delivering some of the largest events ever held in the city – most notably the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games – we look forward to this incredible sporting occasion and supplying an exciting and unique range of screen services to help make it memorable.

“The requirement for a mixture of mobile and modular LED products is well-suited to our capabilities; we can provide the right solution for the 14 different indoor and outdoor venues, including screens that will deliver real wow factor.”

The SSE Hydro will be the host venue for the gymnastics and feature a vast 230sqm modular LED screen in 6mm resolution, replicating the huge installation ADI created there during the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships.

The sizable screen will provide a dynamic digital backdrop to competitions and the medal podium, capable of taking up to 16 live feeds to keep the audience informed and engaged through a mixture of content.

In addition to the competition venues, ADI will supply a range of screens for the Festival 2018 sites at Merchant City and George Square, which will host an inclusive and innovative programme of dance, film, music, visual art and theatre.

Beyond LED screens, ADI will deliver multiple plasma displays and manage the signal distribution across every competition and non-competition venue. All solutions will be supported by an ADI team of 30 staff who will be on-site for nearly four weeks during the install, live event (2-12 August) and removal.
