World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is to stage its first “premium” live event in London for more than 20 years.

WWE will stage its Money In The Bank show concept for this first time in the UK, with a show at London’s The O2 arena on 1 July. It said the decision to bring the event to London followed the success of Cardiff’s Clash At The Castle, a pay-per-view and livestreaming event staged at Principality Stadium on 3 September. It was the first major WWE stadium show to be held in the UK since 1992. WWE said the event was the most-watched international premium live event in WWE’s history, with the largest attendance of any European WWE event.

“The O2 is one of the world’s premier venues and the perfect home for Money In The Bank. We are excited to bring one of our big five events to the UK and look forward to welcoming the WWE Universe to London on July 1,” WWE EVP talent  Dan Ventrelle.
