YADA events has announced the launch of the 2018 YADA Acedemy, a 12 week intensive training programme for 11 selected interns.

YADA is a platform that creates an online social community around an event, connecting attendees to staff, security, and organisers. They were announced as one of five shortlisted nominees for Festout’s Pitch for Your Pitch competition.

The company invited applications from students all over the country and from a variety of university courses. The programme has been developed to give interns hands-on experience throughout the company, including all aspects of business and events.

Workshops will take place on topics such as project management, event creation, sales techniques, sponsorship, social media, marketing and merchandising.

Mehram Sumray-Roots, product director and co-founder at YADA, said: “I was really impressed with the calibre and diversity of applicants this year; many of them are studying subjects outside of the events industry, so they bring a really varied dynamic to our business.

Our academy is designed to give real life business experience and education to our interns wilst enabling us to tap into and utilise their skills, passion and enthusiasm.

“The YADA Academy is now in its third year; each has been bigger than the year before, and each year we employ at least two interns.”
