AEG Europe is preparing to unveil a new £7 million members space at The O2 arena, featuring a retractable viewing platform.

Due to open in the late autumn, The Residence members club will be set over 1,150 square meters and accommodate 300 people.

Located on Level 3, directly opposite the arena stage, The Residence’s key feature will be The Walkway; a retractable viewing platform, an industry first in the UK arena market, that will enable members to stand 70ft above the crowds while watching performances.

The premium space will also include a selection of lounges, bars and dining spaces, with members able to make use of valet parking, an exclusive VIP entrance to the venue, and a dedicated account manager.

The O2 senior director premium seating Matt Botten said The O2’s biggest investment in premium seating to date follows the venue having seen a sharp increase in demand for premium shared spaces and immersive experiences: “We know that never-before-seen features like The Walkway will create unforgettable, ‘wow’ moments for members and their guests. The Residence will be the most exclusive new member’s club at the world’s best venue.”

AEG is currently looking to secure a naming rights partner for The Residence. AEG Global Partnerships Europe VP Nathan Kosky said, “The business that takes brand ownership of The Residence, including The Walkway, will be able to engage with influential guests and further enhance their experience at a world-famous venue – and for others, entertaining has never been so exciting.”

Among the forthcoming shows at the 20,000-capacity arena are Madonna, The Chemical Brothers, Peter Kay, Fall Out Boy, Madness, Pete Tong and Romesh Ranganathan.

The O2 is among the venues scheduled to be included in Access All AreasAAA Explores film series.
