Cornwall’s Rock Oyster Festival has launched a £300,000 crowdfunding campaign to finance an expansion.
The music, food and wellbeing event, which recently secured a new license to increase its capacity from 10,000 to 15,000, is now inviting the public to invest in its future growth.
The festival’s pitch highlights its revenue growth of 128% over the last three years. As part of its expansion strategy, organisers of Rock Oyster have developed alternative accommodation options in the “over-subscribed” area of North Cornwall, including campsites and glamping options.
In its campaign, the festival organisers stressed the importance of this investment to the festival’s continued success, while also cautioning potential investors of the inherent risks. “Don’t invest unless you’re prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment,” they said in the pitch.
