Oasis has announced a series of 2025 stadium shows in Canada, US and Mexico, produced by Live Nation (LN) and SJM.
Some 16 years after the Manchester band last performed in North America, Oasis has unveiled details of stadium shows in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Los Angeles and Mexico City next summer.
The band’s previously announced dates as part of the Oasis Live ‘25 tour sold out immediately, with LN claiming it was the biggest concert launch ever seen in the UK and Ireland, with more than 10 million fans from 158 countries queuing to buy tickets.
Registration for the presale is open until 1 October, with general ticket onsale beginning on 4 October at 12pm via Ticketmaster.
LN said plans are underway for extend the Oasis Live ’25 tour to other continents outside of Europe and North America later next year.
Ticketmaster’s use of the dynamic pricing for the initial dates on the Oasis tour sparked widespread complaints from consumers after fans were left waiting for hours in online queues before unexpectedly being faced with the prospect of inflated prices of £355 for standing tickets that were shown as being £135 at the outset.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said it has launched an investigation into Ticketmaster’s use of dynamic pricing and the government had already promised to explore the issue during a forthcoming consultation on consumer protections for ticket resale.
In a statement, Oasis’ management outlined that dynamic pricing will not be used for the band’s US, Canada and Mexico shows: “Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model will not be applied to the forthcoming sale of tickets to Oasis concerts in North America. It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat ticket touting and keep prices for a significant proportion of fans lower than the market rate and thus more affordable.
“But, when unprecedented ticket demand (where the entire tour could be sold many times over at the moment tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans.
“We have made this decision for the North America tour to hopefully avoid a repeat of the issues fans in the UK and Ireland experienced recently.”
