Olivia PowellOne of London’s largest roof gardens, the John Lewis & Partners rooftop, will be transformed into a Winter Carnival this festive season.
Situated above Oxford Street, the rooftop garden’s theme will be ‘Winter Americana’, with fairground horses, waltzer panels and bumper cars, all given a rosy glow by brightly coloured smart lights powered by Philips Hue.
The private dens will become the House of Fortune, House of Mirrors and Google Nest x Philips Hue House of Lights, all featuring customisable lighting, music and games. Guests will be able to win at the Google Claw Machine, or get competitive at the Google Curling Station.
Jimmy Garcia will bring The Carnival Diner to the rooftop, featuring an array of American-style treats like Popcorn Shrimp, Loaded Fries, Corn Dogs, Turkey Drummers, Oreo Cheesecake Bites, Hot Toffee Apples and more. Sage Winter Warmers will be providing adult versions of classic winter favourites including Tipsy Hot Chocolate, Winter’s Chill and Butterscotch Kiss, whilst Background Bars will be offering beer and wine, as well as seasonal cocktails to sip on the pergola.
The Winter Carnival will be running from 18 October-5 January. The rooftop garden will also feature additional seasonal touches for the upcoming Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas festivities.
