The Events Industry Forum (EIF) has announced it is open to being the subject of a governance review.

EIF and EIF Ltd, which publishes the Purple Guide, are inviting proposals for an independent organisation or individual to undertake a comprehensive governance review of both organisations in order to ensure they are appropriately structured for the future.

The Forum was originally established to bring together the various organisations involved in the outdoor event industry to collaborate on issues of common interest. EIF Ltd was later established to manage and publish The Purple Guide, which offers guidance for the outdoor events sector.

EIF Ltd director Jim Winship said the similarity in names often leads to confusion between their roles, and the aim of the review will be to consider how the two should be structured and managed for the future: “We are hugely proud of the work and positive contribution The Event industry Forum and Purple Guide have made to the outdoor events sector. As the industry evolves, so must we, hence we strongly support the case for an independent, end-to-end governance review.”
