Danish festival AiaSound, which is independently run, has filed for bankruptcy with its organisers confirming the festival will no longer be staged.
Based in Tiøren, Copenhagen, the festival has attracted international stars including Wizkid, Skepta and Iconapop, since its inception in 2021
AiaSound has faced financial difficulties since the first edition according to its organisers, who shortened last year’s event from three to two days as part of an effort to reduce costs.
What ultimately became AiaSound’s last festival, the 2025 edition took place on 1-2 August with daily attendance figures reported to be around 20,000.
In a statement, AiaSound’s organisers said the festival industry had changed significantly in recent years and that staging the event had become unaffordable: “Five summers in a row, we have called Tiøren our home ground. We have erected tents, tapped cold draft beer, built stages and welcomed both Danish and international artists. Whether it will be a permanent ‘goodbye’ or a ‘see you soon’ remains to be seen.”
