Brothers James and Luke Cottingham have developed a unique event experience, which allows people to design and create jewellery using a kit.

Guided by the team from CAST Experience, guests can design and make bespoke jewellery pieces including rings, earrings, pendants, charms, cufflinks, or even something for the pooch, which are crafted in jewellers’ wax.

They are then cast in solid gold, silver or platinum in the CAST workshop, where each piece is finished by hand, individually packaged and returned to the customer’s specification within three weeks of the event.

The latest event is being held in London on Thursday 6 December, at the Soho Headquarters of MADE.COM, the designer furniture and homeware specialists.

CAST has linked up with alcohol and confectionary innovators Smith and Sinclair for an evening of cocktails and jewellery making. Tickets cost £75 including cocktails and your bespoke piece of jewellery. Go to www.castexperience.com for full details.

James, an ex-professional footballer who launched the CAST Experience, commented: “Ultimately, our aim is to change the way we make, and now shop jewellery. High-end, bespoke jewellery can now be designed and handmade by regular people, literally anyone – in exciting spaces, anywhere in the world, without the monster retail mark-ups.”

CAST Experiences have been staged at venues in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Bristol, Liverpool and Glasgow.  Further CAST events will roll out across the UK next year.

James said: “In 2019 we are looking at developing partnerships and relationships with event agencies, brands and businesses. We want businesses and brands to see the CAST Experience as a great opportunity to engage with employees and clients, in a new, creative, more exciting way.”

CAST have also released a range of ‘create at home’ jewellery making kits. The kits allow people with zero experience or skill-level to create bespoke jewellery pieces, in their own time, anywhere in the world.
