Live Nation’s Shropshire edition of its family-orientated event Camp Bestival will not take place in 2025.
A spokesperson said the festival’s organisers will be “taking a break from Shropshire” next year but the Camp Bestival Dorset edition will take place at Lulworth Castle on 31 July to 3 August 2025.
The most recent edition of Camp Bestival Shropshire took place in Weston Park from 15-18 August with a line up including McFly, Rick Astley, The Darkness and Faithless.
The Shropshire incarnation of the long-running family-friendly festival was launched in 2022 by Camp Bestival founders Rob Da Bank (aka Robert Gorham) and wife Josie.
Speaking to AAA ahead of its launch, Gorham said, “There’s a huge amount of people from the north, and from Scotland and Wales, who have said ‘I wish it was a bit closer’ because they don’t want to jump in a car with their kids and drive for seven or eight hours to get to Dorset. Shropshire will make it a lot easier for people from the Birmingham area, and further north, to get to us.”
Launched in 2008 as the sister event of the Isle of Wight-based Bestival (40,000), Camp Bestival was acquired by Live Nation 10 years later via a joint venture between LN-Gaiety and SJM Concerts.
Last year, the team behind Camp Bestival marked the 15th anniversary of the event with an extensive interview with AAA, in which they reflected on the inspiration behind its launch along with its evolution and expansion during the years since.
