Christopher BarrettCelebrated musician, producer and passionate campaigner for the environment, Brian Eno has announced the launch of new two-day camping festival EarthPercent Presents Equinox.
Due to take place at the Wasing Estate, near Reading, from 20-22 September, the event is a fundraiser for Eno’s environmental charity EarthPercent.
Combining talks, live music and DJ sets, the Brian Eno-curated line-up includes Nitin Sawhney, The Egg, Kirsty Galagher and Shpongle (DJ Set) along with talks from US mycologist Paul Stamets and The Psychedelic Society.
EarthPercent was launched in 2021 with the aim of raising $100 million from the music industry by 2030 to be spent on environmental initiatives. The charity encourages artists and music-related organisations and projects to pledge a small percentage of their income to the charity, which is then directed to organisations dealing with climate change.
“Equinox is an exciting collaboration with the folk at Wasing. It will be a deep dive into nature connection and the importance of protecting this precious planet. There’ll be an eclectic array of artists, talks and workshops on climate and nature connection, as well as the chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Wasing estate,” said Eno.
