Christopher BarrettLive Nation-owned promoter Cuffe and Taylor has partnered with its Cardiff Castle gig series co-promoter Depot Live to launch a new 35,000-capacity greenfield concert series in the city.
Subject to licence, Blackweir Live will kick off with four outdoor concerts at Blackweir Fields (pictured), located alongside the River Taff in Cardiff. Dates and ticket details are expected to be announced shortly.
For the past two years Cuffe and Taylor and Depot have presented almost 30 headlining shows at Cardiff Castle. This year’s shows were attended by around 170,000 people, and included performances by acts such as Manic Street Preachers, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Avril Lavigne, Smashing Pumpkins and IDLES.
Depot Live founder Nick Saunders said, “[Cardiff] has a rich musical heritage, and we are committed to contributing to that legacy by bringing world-class live music experiences right to the heart of it.”
