Global venue giant ASM Global has revealed details of its $42m transformation of Arizona’s Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, from a traditional sports arena into a premier music and entertainment destination.
ASM said the project includes nearly 25 redesigned spaces and forms part of a broader plan to enhance the venue and its 250-acre entertainment complex, which features State Farm Stadium, 13 hotels, the Westgate Entertainment District, and Desert Diamond Casino. Set for completion in spring 2025, the work is involving 23 local trade partners and more than 500 local tradespeople.
Glendale city manager Kevin Phelps said, “Desert Diamond Arena’s $42m renovation is a transformative investment, solidifying Glendale as a premier entertainment destination in the Southwest.
“Glendale’s entertainment district — home to nearly 4,000 hotel rooms, convenient freeway access and more than 26,000 parking spaces — is unmatched in its scale, accessibility and impact, positioning our community as a leader in live entertainment for years to come.”
ASM Global executive vice president of arenas, stadiums, and theatres, Doug Thornton, added, “The new and improved arena will deliver a first-class experience for every guest, from general admission attendees to premium club members, raising Glendale’s profile as a leading U.S. entertainment district.”
