Max SteventonAEG Europe said it is working with renewable energy supplier Ecotricity to make its UK venues the first to run on the greenest energy available.
The new supply agreement combines combines Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with 100% renewable energy backed by hourly-matched Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin.
The deal covers The O2, indigo at The O2, Eventim Apollo, Watford Colosseum and The Halls Wolverhampton. The venues will be powered mainly by solar and hydro sources, offering full transparency and audit-level accountability.
AEG said the move will accelerate renewable energy growth on the National Grid and set a new standard for sustainability in the live sector.
The company has already trialled several sustainability initiatives, including the world’s first carbon-removed events at The O2 in 2024, which removed 545.9 tonnes of carbon across four shows.
