Max SteventonThe All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club has announced that Sally Bolton OBE will step down as CEO after The Wimbledon Championships.
Bolton was appointed in 2020. During her tenure, she led the organisation through the return of Wimbledon following the COVID-19 pandemic and oversaw operational changes to the tournament, including the transition to a 14-day format. She also supported developments in digital and broadcast operations and work related to the long-term planning of the site.
The club said a process to appoint a successor is under way. After Wimbledon 2026, financial director Richard Atkinson will serve as interim CEO during the transition period.
“It has been a great honour and privilege to serve as chief executive of the All England Club and to work alongside such a dedicated Board and group of colleagues, partners and the wider tennis community,” said Bolton. “I am proud of what we have achieved together – particularly bringing The Championships back following the pandemic and in shaping a clear path for the future.
Chair of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club Deborah Jevans CBE said, “Sally has made a very important contribution to the success of the All England Club and The Championships for over a decade and particularly as Chief Executive for the past six years.”
