Having celebrated the event’s 10th anniversary last year with an edition at The Downs parkland on the outskirts of Bristol, promoter 57 Festivals is bringing its Bristol Comedy Garden festival back to its usual city-centre location this summer.

The event is to be staged at Queen Square from 14-18 June, with a line-up of big-name comedy acts performing in a 1,200-capacity Big Top.

With production handled by Bristol-based BES Systems, the festival will consist of eight shows over the five days with acts including Jack Dee, Sara Pascoe, Ed Gamble, Nina Conti, Dylan Moran and Alan Davies.

Having signed a naming rights deal with car marketplace Heycar, the event has been re-branded Bristol Comedy Garden presented by Heycar.

57 Festivals is overseen by co-director siblings Will Briggs and Cass Randolph. The latter said,  “We’re very grateful to have been able to transform the festival into the open-air shows on The Downs. But it all began for us in Queen Square and we’re beyond excited to be heading back again, it’s like a cathartic full circle following the challenging pandemic years.”
