The Festival and Outdoor Show (Festout) will be coming to Sandown Park from 26-27 September this year.

Event production agency We Are The Fair will be among those in attendance. The Fair delivers everything from site management and security to health and safety, and will be showcasing their services at the show.

Their credentials include producing the launch festival for Croydon’s Boxpark, working alongside Eskimo Dance and NME, and supporting highly acclaimed festivals such as Houghton and Junction 2.

Rukhsana Bentley, business development manager at The Fair, said: “We’re really looking forward to working alongside Mash Media again at this year’s Festout, where we’ll continue to raise the profile of our industry through discussions on topics such as licensing, audience experience and advocacy.

“With the support of expert panellists that include festival directors, local authorities, promoters and production specialists, we will bring an open forum to Festout, championing our work and discussing the possibilities that lie ahead.”

The issue of local authorities is one that is close to The Fair’s heart, and which CEO Nick Morgan has touched upon previously:

“The issue we are having at the moment when talking to councils is the lack of specific data to help us demonstrate the value of the sector.

“This comes at a time when nearly all local authorities in England are set to raise council tax and service charges amid concerns for their financial stability.

The UK festival scene, and in particular London, is suffering at the hands of local residents who are continually mounting pressure on councils to prevent these events going ahead.”

Discussions and seminars will touch upon topics including these during the show, among many others.
