GLL, the charitable enterprise that operates Copper Box Arena (cap. 7,500), has partnered with Oak View Group (OVG), the US-based venue and management company.

The deal means OVG will oversee all food and beverage operations at Copper Box Arena, including VIP lounges, suites and dining areas. OVG exec VP international venue management Rebecca Kane Burton said OVG will invest nearly a million pounds in the catering experience for the arena.

OVG delivered its first food and drink experience at Copper Box Arena, which is London’s third biggest arena, from 29 August for Gorillaz’s (pictured) four sold out shows.

OVG has partnered with several major UK venues and sports stadiums including Co-op Live arena, St Mary’s Stadium, Etihad Stadium and Villa Park. GLL has managed Copper Box Arena for over a decade.

“OVG is thrilled that GLL chose us to partner with them to elevate the offering at the iconic Copper Box Arena. GORILLAZ demonstrated just what a great venue London has in Copper Box Arena. A true Olympic legacy,” said Burton.

GLL head of events Daniel Le Grange said, “As one of London’s most versatile venues, it’s vital we continue to evolve what we offer and this partnership will help us ensure every visitor enjoys a world-class experience. The success of the recent GORILLAZ shows highlights the huge potential of Copper Box Arena and we’re excited for what’s to come.”
