Glasgow’s SECC played hosted to over 6,000 gaming fans on 29-21 July for the inaugural edition of Resonate – Total Gaming.

Fran McIntyre MD of organiser QD Events said: “We’ve been in talks about launching a gaming event for a few years now, and the original idea actually came to me while I was at a Minecraft event in London with my family.

“With Scotland’s reputation as a digital and gaming hub growing, I saw it as a massive opportunity to put us on the map and emphasise our expertise.

“The aim was always to galvanise the gaming community, from parents who play with their kids to hardcore gamers, encouraging them to come together under one roof and celebrate everything gaming. We accomplished that, and the visitor numbers and positive feedback are testament to the festival’s quality and variety.”

Visitors were given the opportunity to play games including Pokémon, TrackMania, Street Fighter V, Star Wars Battlefront, FIFA, Rocket League, Splatoon and Minecraft, and could also meet big industry games inn Q&As and signings.

The Exhibitor Zone featured companies from the worlds of television, publishing, live entertainment and gaming, including big names such as BAFTA, All 4 Games, DC Thomson, Waterstones, Xtreme Gaming and 110% Gaming.
