Max SteventonNew 550-capacity London venue 77 is set to open in Marylebone on 26 September.
Said to be “purpose-built for sound, design and experience,” the Central London facility will function as both a nightlife destination and events space.
The venue features an L-Acoustics sound system, Robe lighting, lasers, strobes and LED screens. The venue’s operators said 77 is suited to a wide range of events, from club nights and album launches to fashion shows.
The venue, which is located beneath The BoTree hotel, is being overseen by a group including former Tao Group executive Jonathan Wade, Rinse FM programmer and tastemaker Eniz Hilmi and hospitality operator Sebastian Banovic.
Hilmi, who is also director of music for 77, said, “We’ve designed 77 to deliver the same world class production experience you’d expect from a huge venue, whilst ensuring the connection between the artist and the audience is at the forefront.
“We’re also encouraging artists to play extended sets, and in some cases, even all night long, something DJs rarely get the chance to do in London, giving artists freedom to tell a full story with their music, while fans get to experience them in a way they can’t anywhere else in the city.”
