IGNITION Festival of Motoring will return to the SEC Glasgow this year for a three-day event on 4-6 August.

A new addition to the event for 2017 will be the outdoor Ride and Drive Zone, giving motor enthusiasts the chance to test their skills with a mix of off-road driving experience, test drives, a young driver experience and the chance to ride electric motocross and trials bikes.

“We’re thrilled to bring IGNITION Festival of Motoring back to Glasgow and it’s sure to be bigger, faster and louder in 2017,” said Cat Stanford, director at IGNITION Festival. “It was fantastic to welcome over 26,000 people to last year’s inaugural event and we hope to see even more people attend this year for what is truly a unique spectacle in Scotland.”

The indoor arcade is another new attraction at the festival and is set to host a range of games and experiences, including remote control drifting, a giant Scalextric, virtual reality, simulators, gaming areas and remote control truck racing.

Joe Aitken, head of events at Glasgow Life commented: “There’s never been a motor show like IGNITION in Scotland. From the sights and sounds of the paddock and F1 cars on the street circuit to the phenomenal supercars, classic cars and bikes that will take over every part of the SEC campus, the scale, ambition and complexity of this event is truly unrivaled and we’re very excited to be bringing it back to Glasgow.

“With the addition of the outdoor Ride and Drive Zone and the IGNITION Arcade, there’s a real family-friendly feel to this year’s event,” added Aitken.
