Live event wristband supplier ID&C has awarded Cornwall’s Looe Music Festival a £2,500 bursary towards security wristbands.

The festival won ID&C’s 2014 Grass Roots Festival Bursary, which each year awards a UK-based festival that demonstrates its commitment and efforts towards sustainability, charity and community engagement.

Since its inaugural event in 2010, Looe Music Festival has grown from 100 attendees to 6,000 in 2013. The three-day event generated a reported £1.8 million last year.

“Looe Music Festival ticks all the boxes for us,” said ID&C’s Matt Wilkey. “Besides its long-term commitment to charity, community and sustainability initiatives, there is a real ‘by the people, for the people’ spirit that has cleary played a major part of the event’s growth and success.”

The £2,500 bursary from ID&C will cover the cost of the fest’s access control requirements this year.

Looe Music Festival takes place 19-21 September this year, with Frank Turner, Squeeze and The Brand New Heavies already confirmed to play.
