Wembley Park, The NEC, and Manchester’s Sport City are set to host Electric Run – a 5km run/walk experience event. 

Launched earlier this year in the US attracting a total of 300,000 participants, Electric Run adopts a neon lighting theme for the duration of the circuit, where the runners are encouraged to join in by sporting glow sticks and LEDs. 

Electric Run has partnered with the organiser of the Brighton Marathon, Grounded Events, to deliver the UK runs. 

The event starts with the runners heading out into electric themed landscpes, finishing in the midst of a full DJ set and light show for a celebratory afterparty. 

Electric Run has taken place across several states in the US and has recently launched in Sydney, Hong Kong, Canada and Singapore and will take place at Wembley Park in London on 26 April 2014.

The NEC in Birmingham and Sport City in Manchester will host Electric Run next year on 3 May and 10 May respectively.

“Electric Run is one of the most innovative and exciting developments in the running world,” said MD at Grounded Events Tom Naylor. “Through the fusion of light, music and the simple enjoyment that comes from going for a run this is an event that cannot be missed.”

The event is for all ages and levels of fitness and participants can run or walk the three mile course.
