Tobacco Dock has reported a significant summer success this season with the venue having held 29 events in total, 12 of which were consumer shows, from May until the end of July.

Jonathan Read, commercial director at Tobacco Dock, commented: “We have had a fantastic summer at Tobacco Dock with an abundance of festivals, conferences, summer parties and exhibitions leading to record revenues for the period and growth of around 30 per cent year-on-year.”

Events such as Lululemon’s SweatLife festival, Bike Shed, Hyper Japan and Women of Silicon Roundabout were staged at the venue in East London for the first few summer months of 2017.

August and September, the company said, will also be especially lively for Tobacco Dock with 18 events in the pipeline, including nine public gatherings.
These include Gin Festival, Upload London —deemed the UK’s most exciting influencer event —and the International London Tattoo Convention, one of the world’s leading body art show.

Tobacco Dock’s newly opened rooftop bar, Skylight, also contributed to the venue’s busy summer season, the venue said.

Since its launch in May 2017, Skylight has attracted more than 23,000 visitors. The bar offers creative cocktails, craft beer, delicious street food, lawn games and views of London.

Festival line-up

Tobacco Dock has confirmed that it will have played host to 20% of London’s leading food and drink festivals by the end of 2017. These events include Meatopia, the London Halal Food Festival, Junipalooza and Taste of London – Festive Edition.

“We are proud to be such a versatile venue with the ability to host a wide range of audiences and attract the leading creative agencies and organisers. We continue to invest significant sums in both the venue facilities and our team to deliver an outstanding customer experience,” Read said.

Tobacco Dock is a conference and event space located in the heart of Wapping, London. The venue features quayside views, natural daylight, an outdoor environment and in-house catering.

The site is also home to The Dock, a thriving co-working community of over 100 start-ups and scaling businesses.
