GL events UK will deliver solutions for The 2018 Ryder Cup experience, which includes building France’s first ever triple-deck temporary structure.

The 2018 Ryder Cup has awarded a contract to GL events UK, a specialist in delivering live, global event infrastructure and overlay, to create France’s first ever triple-deck temporary structure.

This is the third time GL events has been appointed by The Ryder Cup. The contract aims to ‘put innovation at the heart of the spectator experience’ at Le Golf National in Paris this September.

Installation of the triple-deck structure by GL events marks a boundary-pushing innovation for both the event and its attendees. After working closely with The 2018 Ryder Cup and relevant authorities, the newly-designed, reverse-wrap corner system will be unveiled at the event and will fit within the 6,500-seater double wrap-around grandstand constructed on the 1st tee and 18th Green area.

GL events UK has also been appointed to supply a range of temporary structures and audience seating grandstands, to create premium event infrastructure throughout Le Golf National for The 2018 Ryder Cup.

Key back-of-house operational and administration infrastructure will also be installed; as well as an exclusive range of visitor areas: from luxurious multi-storey hospitality pavilions to premium retail, dining and brand experiential pop-ups throughout the event village.

“We are thrilled to be working with GL events to help deliver a premium event in Paris this year,” said Edward Kitson, Europe’s Ryder Cup Match director. “We look forward to enhancing the spectator experience this year through innovative and integrated solutions.”

Scott Jameson, GL events UK group managing director, said: “By supplying our innovative temporary structures and grandstands to The Ryder Cup once again, GL events strengthens its position as a global leader in delivering imaginative and quality event infrastructure. GL events is committed to continually raising the bar, creating bespoke, transformative spectator experiences. We look forward to putting our expertise at the forefront of a key and influential sporting event within France.”
