The first ever Edinburgh Digital Entertainment Festival, presented by Riverside Studios, will celebrate the worlds of arts, entertainment and technology.

The festival, which takes place from 4-28 August at the Assembly Rooms venue, will include a Tech Hub expo where developers can showcase their latest products and innovations.

Companies confirmed to attend the event include immersive tech company Igloo Vision, 3D VR painting tool Tilt Brush by Google, Subpac, Coatsink, the Guardian and the BBC.

Organisers describe the hub as “an interactive playground filled with new experiences to open your eyes to the future of technology.

“Be transported to virtual worlds where you can paint in 3D space and create your own masterpiece with Google’s Tilt Brush or take a virtual spacewalk with the BBC project inspired by NASA’s training programme.”
