Zip World London, the biggest city centre zip line in the world, launches in the capital on London’s Southbank.

The zip line opens today (18 July) and runs until 1 October. The experience lasts 40 minutes including safety briefing and kitting up.

The experience gives riders a unique view of the London Eye and Big Ben. The double zip wire begins 35 metres above the ground, with a 225 metre across the London skyline over Archbishop’s Park.

“Zip lines and the greatest cityscape in the world, it seemed such an obvious idea to put the two together,” said Barry Shaverin, founder of Zip World.

“Archbishop’s Park is one of London’s best kept secrets so it was the perfect location. Zip World was the obvious partner to bring some of the excitement they achieve in Wales,” Sharverin said.

This is the first urban experience from the Zip World team, in partnership with the City Zip Company. Their first launch, Velocity, is the fastest zip line in the world located in Penrhyn Quarry, Wales.

David Stacey, Zip World managing director commented: “We have so many visitors to Wales from London, it’s great to be bringing that excitement to them here in the capital.

“Londoners can then experience more adventure at Zip World in Wales. Alongside the raft of extraordinary experiences for visitors to try, the beautiful countryside of north Wales offers a fantastic destination to experience more adventure just a train ride away, direct from London Euston,” said Stacey.
